The Music

Enjoy the music Dr. Camara plays for his patients before their surgery on Live From the Operating Room. Dr. Camara has chosen each piece with utmost care from his own repertoire:

Nocturne in Eb - One of Frederic Chopin’s most popular compositions was made famous in the movie The Eddie Duchin Story. This incredibly romantic piece continues to delight listeners 159 years after Chopin’s death.

Etude in E Major - Better known as "No Other Love", this Chopin piece is one of today’s best loved classical works. Its memorable melody is soothing and inspiring all at once.

Moonlight Sonata - (Piano Sonata No. 14) is Ludwig von Beethoven’s most recognizable piano composition. It sings melodically of unrequited love, but ends with joyous hope. Always a favorite, it elicits a tranquil mood.

Arabesque No. 1 - This is one of Claude Debussy’s most beautiful piano compositions, bringing to mind water cascading down a waterfall in a verdant forest. It is both beautiful and relaxing.

Pavanne for a Dead Princess - Maurice Ravel wrote this piece in memory of a beautiful girl who had passed away. Its haunting melody is at once soothing and reassuring, implying hope even in sadness.

Milonga del Angel - This beautiful piece was written by Astor Piazzolla, one of Argentina’s foremost composers. It brings to mind a graceful, slow tango depicting life’s undulating twists and turns.

The More I See You - This song, published in 1945 by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon, continues to delight listeners with its catchy romantic melody. It was sung in the movie "Diamond Horseshoe".

La Playera -was composed by Enrique Granados, known for his evocative solo piano works. This piece conjures up images of a pretty Spanish señorita performing a flirtatious dance. Its three distinct melodies are all repetitively pleasing.

Polonaise in A Major - by Chopin is played in a slower tempo here. The composer wrote this song to honor his home country of Poland. Dr. Camara usually played this piece as his patients completed their operation.
